About Bernie

I have found my true and lasting vocation.  I love  teaching yoga and helping others to enjoy the benefits of the practice and  have fun,  while improving their flexibility, health, and well-being.
Like most yoga teachers, I had a life before yoga and mine involved travel and teaching students and business people from around the world.  I was  an employment adviser and was involved in educational sales and human resource and operations management.

Prior to training as a Yoga instructor I also trained and worked as a Fiteness Instructor and Personal Trainer.

Althugh British, I was educated and brought up in Canada, and have lived in Portugal and Spain. I am the proud mother of three sons and a grand-daughter.  I speak Portuguese fluently and have a good comprehension of Spanish.

My Approach

Since my initial training as a qualified Yoga teacher I have developed my own style and approach to classes and teaching which draws upon my years of experience practising yoga, my training as a personal trainer and fitness instructor, and  classroom teaching experience.

This combination of study and experience  have provided me with the tools to design and create accessible sequenced classes, and importantly the ability to assess, instruct and support my students at a pace that is comfortable for them.

There is  no 'hands on' alignment without your permission .

Yoga instruction is an on-going life-long learning experience and I am currently completing  my 300 hour advanced teacher training certificate.
